MOUNT DESERT ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Mount Desert Island Regional School District Trustees held a meeting on 3 June 2009 with the
following members present: Ed Bonville, Bob Webber, Mike Musetti, Steve Hudson, Tina Jewett,
Eric Henry and Matthew Bucklin.
Others present: Rob Liebow and Sally Leighton.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Ed Bonville at 6:05 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOVED by Mike Musetti, seconded by Tina Jewett and unanimously voted to approve the minutes
of 27 May 2009 as written.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None
DISCUSSION ITEM
CONTINUED DISCUSSION OF ROOF REPAIR
The Trustees discussed the roof analysis report with Dan Robbins of Harriman Associates via conference call.
MOVED by Bob Weber and seconded by Steve Hudson to borrow $875,000 for the roof replacement project.
Discussion of Option #1 vs. Option #2 –
Option #1 – Replace the roof in phases
Option #2 – Replace the roof in one job
Discussion of the length of the loan – 5, 10 or 15 years
Discussion of increasing the Trustees’ budget
Bob Weber amended his motion to borrow up to $1,000,000 for a ten year term, for the purpose of roof replacement. Seconded by Steve Hudson. Motion passed unanimously.
OTHER BUSINESS
Rob Liebow read the minutes of the 8 February 2007 Trustees meeting which reflected a vote to encumber
up to $30,000 from the 2006-07 contingency toward the sports complex completion project.
